Sambandh believes that it is important not only to work with persons with mental illness and their caregivers, but with the society as a whole to bring about a shift in people’s perspective about mental illness. Ms Rita Seth of Sambandh Health Foundation and Ms Rashewari Iyer of Roshni were awarded at national level for their contributions to the National Carers Movement in India, at the 21st Biennial World Congress of WFMH, held in New Delhi at The Ashok Hotel from 2nd to 5th November 2017.
Sambandh Health Foundation had recently started the Village Mental Health Programme in villages in and around Gurgaon with support of MPS Limited. As part of this initiative, a new Centre at Aath Biswa Choupal provided by the Parshad of Gurgaon Gaon was launched during Schizophrenia Week. This Centre will cater to residents of Gurgaon Gaon, where Sambandh Team will support persons with mental illness and their families.
Haryana’s first Group Home for Supported Accommodation for persons living with mental illness) was launched in Gurgaon by Sambandh Health Foundation.
Sambandh Health Foundation inaugurated a playground designed and developed by Prerna for children living with disabilities. Punjab Kesari- Delhi Edition
A sensitization workshop was conducted with the Haryana Government Village and Urban Hospitals ANM and ASHA workers in Gurugram.
A free Mental Health camp was organized at the PHC in collaboration with Civil Hospital, Gurugram to create awareness about mental health and addressing mental illness.
